There are many ways to cook a really nice piece of smoked meat. One of them is through the Texas Style Smoked Brisket Recipe. It is pretty simple to prepare this recipe.

The ingredients are as follows:

  • Some wood chips that can include wood, oak or hickory
  • 8 pounds of untrimmed beef briskets
  • You will also need Texas style brisket rub. This helps to spice up the brisket.

You will also need to have either a smoker or a gas grill that allows the use of wood chips on top. A good choice would be any standard Weber Genesis gas grill.

If you are using a smoker, you will need to preheat the smoker. Ensure that the temperature stays at about 230F. Next apply the brisket rub on top. Make sure you apply all over it to ensure that the flavour is distributed evenly all over the brisket. Next, place the brisket into the smoker for about 8 to 10 hours. To increase moisture and tenderness to the brisket, take the brisket out at about the 6 hour mark. Wrap it in aluminum foil before placing it back into the smoker.
